Helpful things to have ready
What it is doing
Smoke rolling into the room, a smell, a stain on the ceiling, an animal noise — describe the symptom and we can usually narrow it down on the phone.
Fuel type
Wood fireplace, wood stove or insert, or gas. It changes what we bring and how long we allow.
Last service date
Even a rough answer helps. “Never, as far as I know” is a perfectly common and useful answer.
