See the pricing page for our starting-at rates. Josh and Jack Amber were born and raised in the village, so this is not a service area to us; it is home.
Local knowledge
Oswego has two very different kinds of chimney
Oswego splits neatly into two chimney populations, and knowing which one you have changes everything about the service you need. The village grew explosively from the late 1990s onward, so a large share of homes here are 20 to 30 years old with factory-built (prefabricated) fireplaces venting through a metal chase rather than solid masonry. Those units have a manufacturer-specified lifespan, use a stainless or triple-wall pipe, and fail differently — chase covers rust and pool water, and the chase top is usually the first thing to go.
The second population sits closer to the historic core near Main Street and the Fox River, where genuinely old masonry chimneys are still in service. Those need soft, lime-appropriate mortar when repointed, and a hard modern mix will destroy the brick. We check which you have before quoting anything. More on the difference in our inspection and masonry pages.
What the Fox River does to Oswego chimneys
Homes near the river corridor — the stretch running past the Village of Oswego‘s Hudson Crossing Park and up toward Violet Patch Park — sit in a humidity pocket. Higher ambient moisture accelerates two things: creosote absorbing water and producing that sharp campfire smell indoors on damp days, and masonry saturation feeding the freeze-thaw cycle that pops brick faces. If you live within a few blocks of the water and smell your fireplace in July, that is why.
Mature tree cover through the older neighborhoods causes the other recurring Oswego complaint: wind-driven downdraft. Tall trees close to a roofline disrupt airflow over the flue and push smoke back into the room. A properly sized draft-correcting cap resolves most of these without touching the chimney structure.
Serving every Oswego neighborhood
We cover the whole village — the subdivisions south and east served by Oswego School District 308 and both Oswego High School and Oswego East, the older streets near downtown, and out toward the Kendall County line. Because we are local, we are not adding a 40-minute drive to your appointment window, and we can often reach you the same week.
Popular local services: annual chimney sweeping before heating season, flashing repair for the ceiling stains that show up after a wet spring, and dryer vent cleaning for the long basement-to-roof runs common in Oswego two-storeys.
Neighboring areas we also serve: Boulder Hill, Montgomery, and Yorkville.
